Vinyasa

In lamens term, this poetic Sanskrit word means progression. Of course one would not achieve the perfect form of asana on the first go. The body must be physically encouraged to break beyond its boundaries, mindful intentions are set + the practice will be a conscious one. We grow from here.

Yoga is exercising the triad of mind, body & soul.

All - level classes are offered.

That’s the beauty of yoga, it’s not a competition, the only person you try to better is yourself.

My specialty in yoga is vinyasa (described above), this includes the sacred flow of Surya Namaskar* suitable for beginners and original flows curated by me. Don’t get intimidated by the inversions or backbends you see on social media…We all start off somewhere. With time and committed practice, the asana* will transform to your own take of perfection.

*Asana: The pose/ seat.

Surya Namaskar: Sun Salutation, the core yoga flow sequence developed to worship the sun, the light of this world. Traditionally practiced early morning.

The Poetic Being

Self- Inquiry, series

Flow - state nestled in an original poetry spoken at the beginning and end of class. We exploring our biomechanism, through lengthened breathing and slower movement. In this series, we flow into a set of one arm balance, an inversion and a standing asana. 90 mins

Root to Rise

Steady Growth, series

Steady foundations calls for a steady rise. This vinyasa series aim to build up body’s intelligence to maintain tensegrity in a pose which requires inner attention and physical balance. Each flow in the series focuses on a particular peak asana. 90 mins

Alien Soul

Inner - Child, series

A playful series abundant with sweaty beats in synergy with our sweaty selves. We lose it and get in touch with our inner- child and peculiar state of flow. Among empowering transitions, each sub - series includes a set of one arm balance, an inversion and a standing asana. 90 mins

The Earthling

Kapha, series

A series focusing on steadying our foundations, flowing to build- up body awareness to ‘rise’ into our peak pose. In this series we explore a set of one arm balance, an inversion and a standing asana. We channel our feminine energies, re-connecting to our roots and honour the home planet which have created us. 65 mins

The So(u)l

Pitta, series

Solar plexus ignition. Salacious, sweaty and soothing is the order of this vinyasa series. Heat is built up and flare into movements aided with heavy beat, firing up the muscle chain, as if we’re heading towards the sol. A peak asana is mindfully inserted as if we’ve arrived at our soul. We channel our masculine energies and honour our inner- fire. 65mins

The Astral

Vata, series

A series interweaving the Yin and Yang, feminine and masculine energy. A soothing balm to life’s constant call to action. Slow and savoring movements in the Yang portion watered - down with ‘resting stops’ which calls for Yin to re-lubricate our joints and finding our edge. We are beings origin of the cosmos. In this moment, we surrender to the state of existence and the great unknown. 65mins

Meditation is the practice of silent observation, an introspective journey. Pranayama is Sanskrit for life -force, the practice of breathing. If you feel like you need to ground down, let us sit together, learn sacred breathing techniques and create space for conscious conversations. All series are cushioned with Kanke original playlists to be part of the experience, however not mandatory.

 

New Moon

A candle - lit, aromatic ritual of listing gratitude, setting new intentions and affirmations. Stilling conversations and moving silences. A meditation to set our lives a new for the coming month. Completed with poetry and silence. 60 mins

Full Moon

A candle - lit, aromatic ritual of acknowledging our emotions, offering our forgiveness to others and ourselves. Meditating on our choices and moments of full - circles. Mantra chants completed with mindful silence. 60 mins

(Zen)sual Self

This session is intimate, channeling the feminine energy. Appreciating each of the senses your body grants you. Wholesome gratitude of existence coupled with sensual music and original poetry. 60 mins

Self - Surrender

With meditation is heavy with self- attention and ‘breath of fire’ pranayama. Interwoven with heart- openers, minimal contemporary dance moves and stillness. 60 mins
